A health related work-based learning experience in medical/surgical settings that enables the student to apply professional nursing theory, skills and concepts within the roles of the professional nurse as provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of the health care team and member of the profession. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional.
