A study of leadership theory and its practical application in managing global business operations as it relates to emerging technologies. Topics include the examination of leadership models, power and influence, team leadership, cross-cultural leadership, strategic styles of interaction, ethics and values, leadership skill development, evidence-based decision-making techniques, and effective goal implementation. Students will investigate methods for leading the design, efficient operation, and improvement of operations and manufacturing processes. Topics evaluated include the design and location of facilities; staff and resource utilization; blending the use of materials efficiently; forecasting; production scheduling; inventory control; and quality assurance.
