A survey of the world’s major geographic regions, with emphasis on intra-regional and inter-regional similarities and differences in climates, land and water resources, population distribution, and the extent of resource utilization. Physical and human factors that enhance, hinder, or threaten economic development and living conditions in the respective regions are also stressed.
