Purpose: The Business Management AAS degree is offered in an accelerated format allowing students to complete the degree requirements in less than a year and a half. The program has been purposely designed to prepare students for managerial occupations across a wide spectrum of industries. The competencies covered within this curriculum are intended to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) necessary to move into first line supervisory positions as well as prepare for entry into bachelor (4-Year) degree programs, such as ACC's Bachelor's in Business Administration and Management (BAM). Students will be exposed to highly valued topics delivered using an instructional approach that closely emulates that expected in industry. Emphasis is placed on developing the technical and non-technical skills employers have come to expect from new hires and those employees seeking advancement opportunities. This innovative degree offers students the opportunity to choose a specialization in Entrepreneurial Management or Nonprofit Management and Leadership, plus the option to pursue a generalist degree whereby you may select courses from the available specializations or other courses approved by the Department Chair.
Program Requirements: The Business Management curriculum contains an up-to-date core list of industry-based, required courses including 42 semester credit hours (SCH) in management, 3 SCH in marketing, 3 SCH of cooperative education, and 15 SCH of general education courses. The student must contact Department Chair prior to registering for Cooperative Education courses.
