Purpose: The ACC Welding Technology program provides extensive classroom and hands-on training. Welders work in shipbuilding, bridges, power plants, oil rigs, refineries, gas pipelines, tanks, and buildings. These jobs are in high demand in our region. Courses within the program include Welding Safety, Tools and Equipment, Introduction to Welding, Layout and Pipe Welding. This well-rounded education provides students with many opportunities and the necessary skills, credentials, and qualifications to enter the workforce successfully.

Requirements: In addition to the general requirements for admission to the college, entry into the Welding Program requires a personal interview with the Department Head of the Welding Department. Students are required to furnish their own tools. All items are required for the first day of class. Tool Kits may be purchased through the Alvin Community College (ACC) Bookstore. Various vendors quotes are available or students can source and assemble their own tools kits based on the required tool list.
