Study of pharmacological agents and their effects on the central nervous system, with emphasis on electroencephalographic patterns, mechanisms of action, and clinical implications for interpretation. This course provides an introduction to how various medications influence the central nervous system and their resulting impact on electroencephalographic activity. Emphasis is placed on common drug classes, basic mechanisms of action, and the recognition of medication-related changes observed in clinical electroencephalography practice.
